Service Statement
In an effort to discover and maintain what is meaningful to customers who hire Paragon for Services. Paragon’s services are individualized to meet customer Individual Plan of Service/Person Centered Plan and Paragons Service Agreement. These documents are compiled by the person receiving services and/or their support circle. Paragon will provide these services while under contract with Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network.
Purpose
The purpose of Paragon Support Systems, Inc. is to develop opportunities and experiences through supportive employment, volunteer work, and community involvement. These day-to-day experiences will not only integrate our customers toward a self-sufficient life-style, but can also cultivate a positive relationship with other community members while aiding in the prevention of institutionalization and maintaining the least restrictive environment possible.
Our story
Executive Director, Valerie Kaiser, began working with individuals with intellectual disabilities more than 40 years ago. At a young age, she became extremely interested in helping people in need and secured a job as a teacher's aid in a special education classroom. It was through this experience that she was able to gain insight to her life's purpose.

Valerie took what she learned from working in the school system and applied it to her next role as a direct care worker. She worked in multiple group homes with an array of different people. It wasn't long before she became a manager in the home setting, training new staff the proper ways to provide a caring environment that enhances the live's of those they served.

In 1996, Valerie decided to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a provider. She formed Paragon Support Systems, Inc. and made it her life's work to provide high quality services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Paragon has positively impacted thousands of people through the almost 30 years it has been in business.
